If you're in the heart of Washington, DC and craving a satisfying bowl of pho, Pho Junkies is a must-visit spot that truly delivers! Located at 1025 1st St SE, this cozy restaurant specializes in Vietnamese cuisine, focusing primarily on its signature dish – pho.

As soon as you step inside Pho Junkies, you’re welcomed into a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels simultaneously casual and curated. Its streamlined menu includes a delightful selection of pho offerings that cater to both traditionalists and those looking to customize their meal. Whether you’re a fan of beef or chicken, you'll find something that tempts your taste buds.

The BEEF PHO, with options like Steak Pho featuring rare eye of round steak gently cooked in the aromatic broth, is a standout. The true gem, however, is the Pho Junkies All The Meats, a hearty bowl that combines all the delectable beef options for those who want to indulge fully. Vegetables and sides like steamed sprouts are available upon request, enhancing your experience and adding fresh texture to your meal.

If you're feeling adventurous, opt for the Pho Your Way which lets you select from a variety of beef cuts, ensuring you get a bowl tailored to your personal preferences. And let’s not forget the delicious Chicken Pho, made with both white and dark meat that is succulent and flavorful, bathing in a rich chicken broth.

Pho Junkies also embraces modernity with its convenient QR code ordering system, allowing guests to place their orders seamlessly from their tables without missing a beat. As one customer, Kelsi Genday, remarked, "It’s the best Pho in DC, by far!" echoing sentiments of numerous satisfied diners who rave about the incredible flavor and quality of the meat. Customers appreciate the attentive service, ensuring that even with limited interaction, their needs are met promptly.

While some diners have noted that prices might skew towards the higher end at around $19 a bowl, the consensus is that the judicious use of quality ingredients and the explosive flavors of the broth justify the cost. Terry Cox mentions how the broth is so profoundly flavorful that it leaves you wanting more, potentially forgoing additional sauces altogether. However, do plan your visit with care, as some reviews highlight inconsistent operating hours that might leave you longing for a delicious bowl on off days.

In summary, Pho Junkies is a delightful fusion of quality ingredients, an easygoing ordering experience, and a cozy atmosphere that makes it a staple for pho lovers. Whether you’re seeking comfort on a chilly day like Giovanni enjoyed or looking for an easy solo dining option, this restaurant promises a fulfilling experience that you'll want to return to. Add Pho Junkies to your list of must-try eateries in Washington, DC, and let your taste buds take the journey!

We arrived within 30 minutes of closing and received a warm welcome. Water arrived just as we were encouraged to choose our own seats. Ordering is by QR code. It was easy and straight forward. You pay & tip in advance. There is minimal interaction with staff, but we were pleased our request for steamed sprouts was met. The broth was so flavorful I skipped the hoisin and hot sauces. The meat quality had to be some of the best ever. Unlike other pho spots, the basil and sprouts come in the pho. They were generous with their portions, the flavors were amazing, and I plan to come back often.

The best Pho in DC, by far. The broth is amazing, but what sets it apart is the quality of the meat. I’ve had the chicken many times and the meat is not fatty and suuuuper tender. It’s QR scan to order, so it’s nice for solo people who don’t really feel like talking (aka myself ) but they were still attentive in refilling my water and giving me condiments. It may look closed from the outside because the windows are dark, but it’s open for lunch. Fantastic food and a competitive price to other Pho places in DC.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Pho, especially on a chilly day like today. The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food arrived quickly. Plus, the prices were very reasonable.

The food, service, and atmosphere are 5-stars , so why the 3 star review?!?! Because (as someone who has lived in the neighborhood since before the brick and mortar first opened) the hours have been all over the place. Nothing worse than craving a hot bowl of Pho, getting dressed and running around the corner to lights out, closed. This place still operates like a food truck… anybody’s guess or you always have to check online. I’m used to the more reliable hours of other Pho shops uptown and across the river…. Or any other restaurant in DC, really.

Found this place yesterday and so happy we did. The size of the bowls were perfect, just the right amount for lunch. The broth was super flavorful and delicious. Service was great and attentive. Check this place out for a great bowl of pho!

Pho Junkies is worth a visit if you live nearby or are a fan of Asian cuisine. The menu is straightforward, featuring only spring rolls and pho. While the food is fresh and tasty, it isn't particularly exceptional. The broth is on the lighter side, and I personally prefer a richer, thicker broth. On the positive side, the ingredients are notably fresh and have a pleasing texture. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, though it could benefit from a cozier ambiance.
